Product details
The world-renowned architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed a study for a house in the South Tyrolean mountains in 1934. During his multiple stays in Bolzano and the surrounding area, he created 40 sketches for a "Mountain House," which later inspired him— as correspondence, plans, and recordings show— in the design of his famous "Farnsworth House." With additional contributions from Alexander Markschies (Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, RWTH Aachen), Niklas Naehrig, and Gregory Grämiger (both lecturers at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture, ETH Zurich). This is the first analysis of the "Mountain House" sketches, exploring Mies' early work, with a Swiss binding and foldable cover.
