Sometimes a year is noted on the back, occasionally a name, but most of the time there is nothing. This leaves plenty of room for stories that can arise in the viewer's mind. Jochen Schmidt, the master of description, was inspired by them to reflect on his own thoughts. His texts are exquisite football prose - about childhood in the GDR, about the relationship between football and train travel, or about the loneliness of goalkeepers.
