The series is created in collaboration with the architecture magazine Archithese and provides a forum for buildings of high architectural quality and architectural theoretical essays. Contributions that have emerged in the context of Archithese find here the opportunity for deeper exploration and more extensive presentation. The series begins with a building monograph on the residential complex Zurich-Leimbach by pool Architekten. Recently, two cooperative buildings clad in slate have stood like large expressive sculptures on the slope above the Sihltal in Leimbach. Unconventional floor plans and striking forms characterize the project by pool Architekten. The residential complex is also remarkable because it demonstrates that cooperatives can bring about innovations in the housing market with unconventional, architecturally ambitious concepts. Once an ambitious endeavor to create new identities in the agglomeration, the two large blocks have long since become one of the most significant statements of new architecture in Switzerland. The building monograph presents the project comprehensively through images, plans, and texts by Hubertus Adam. The office pool Architekten, based in Zurich, plans and realizes projects in various fields such as residential, school, and commercial construction, as well as gastronomy. Additionally, the eight-member team develops design and guideline plans for central and cross developments. For the residential complex in Leimbach, pool Architekten received the 1st prize as "The Best 05" in the architecture category from the magazine Hochparterre, Swiss television, and the Museum of Design Zurich.
