This book explores the originality and origins of children's and household tales. Various variations of a fairy tale are presented, inviting readers to make their own comparisons. I find particularly interesting the tales that have not made it into the 30 most-read ones, as even the lesser-known stories represent a cultural treasure. I especially enjoyed the texts at the end, which delve into cultural history. They provide knowledge and notes for a deeper understanding of the Brothers Grimm's fairy tales.
