The German-Jewish photographer Lore Krüger experienced and survived emigration, resistance, arrest, concentration camps, persecution, and exile after the rise of the Nazis and during World War II. She documented the stages of her life through photography, creating unique historical documents. Her impressive images provide not only a deep insight into the lives of European intellectuals in exile but also a rare, personal perspective on the political events of that time. Stylistically, her photographs are influenced by the movement of "New Vision," and as an artist, she is regarded as a pioneer of the visual arts within the 20th-century avant-garde.
