Wilhelm Hey (1789-1854), a pastor and poet of songs and fables, also cared for a home for the children of working mothers. Against the theological rationalism of his time, he wrote fables for children. In addition to "Do you know how many little stars there are," his Christmas song "Every Year Again" can still be found in the Protestant hymnal today.
