It is clear that this edition is undeniably superior to everything we had up to that point. This is what the magazine "Musica Sacra" wrote about the first volume of the Graduale Novum, which has developed into a widely used standard work since its release seven years ago. Volume II now contains the chants for the weekdays of Advent, the time after Christmas, Lent, the time after Easter, and the liturgical year that were not published in the first volume, as well as the Communia and Propria of the saints, the chants of the funeral liturgy, and other chants specified in the Ordo Cantus Missae that have not yet been published in Volume I of the Graduale Novum. It serves both contemporary liturgical practice and scholarship. Once again, the revisions are directly incorporated into the square notation. Above or below the staff, the neumes are presented in Metz and St. Gall notation.
