The Note Pirates Book is designed to help young piano students learn to read and write music. The individual chapters are based on the different positions (Middle C position, C position, D position, etc.) that are typically covered in many beginner piano methods. By the end, the pitch range includes the notes B to C2 in the treble clef and C to D1 in the bass clef, as well as the notes F#, F#1, C#1, B, E, and E1. The teacher can use the puzzles in class (either individually or in groups) or assign them as practice for students to do at home. The pages are designed simply enough for children to work independently.
