To address the expected shortage of nursing staff due to demographic changes, maintaining the employability of nurses is becoming a central focus. This book examines, using data from the German Pension Insurance, which factors lead to medical rehabilitation or reduced earning capacity pensions in nursing professions. The results highlight the need for prevention and health promotion among nursing staff. However, to enable and effectively implement such offerings, there has been a lack of screening instruments. Therefore, the validation of the Nurse-Work Instability Scale was conducted. The results indicate that the scale is suitable for identifying at-risk nursing staff in need of prevention and health promotion, and could thus play a significant role in early intervention.
