The motto that Ilse Aichinger placed at the beginning of her volume Eliza Eliza (1965) comes from a poem by her twin sister Helga Michie, who lives in England. In Kleist, Moos, Fasane (1987), two prose miniatures shine as a tribute to the artistic work of her sister, populated by Trojan horses and stick figures. Now, on the occasion of her 85th birthday, a book by Helga Michie is being published for the first time. Concord, as the dictionary states, means harmony, agreement. Concord is also the title of an etching by Helga Michie, which depicts a twin pair in a house through which a crack runs. It is a narrow but highly impressive oeuvre, whose poems and images touch upon the pressing, limited riddles of existence.
