Afghanistan in 1986: Caught between the fronts of the Soviet Union and the Mujahideen, photographer Didier Lefèvre accompanies and documents a team from the organization Doctors Without Borders in their work during the war. He captures the difficult working conditions as well as touching human experiences, encounters with hostility, and his arduous, solitary journey back to Pakistan. Together with comic artist Emmanuel Guibert, photographer Didier Lefèvre achieved an international surprise success, with individual volumes selling over 10,000 copies. Now, the trilogy is being released in a complete and newly designed single volume.
