Product details

Christoph Hartung von Hartungen was a versatile historian who researched various epochs. In addition to the economic, social, and everyday history of South Tyrol, he also focused on diplomatic and military history, consistently pursuing an interdisciplinary and cross-linguistic approach. He wrote about the bourgeoisie of Bolzano as well as the Tyrolean riflemen during the First World War and the South Tyrolean police regiments during the Second World War. Furthermore, he engaged with historical figures such as Michael Gaismair, Sepp Innerkofler, and Josef Noldin. The present selection of his essays and treatises published in German and Italian-language journals and anthologies is complemented by an unpublished contribution to school history.
