Hakan Sandell's bilingual selection of poems has already generated great interest among Swedish critics even before the publication of this volume. Starting in June 2017, Swedish National Radio P1 will feature a poem from the anthology every day at noon in "Dagens dikt" (Poem of the Day, a tradition that has lasted for 80 years), and several daily newspapers are reporting on this unusually powerful work. Hakan Sandell did not consult any previous poetry collections for his selection; instead, he has read Swedish poetry from the Rococo period to the present with fresh eyes over the years, discovering many forgotten gems along the way. For German readers, the bilingual anthology provides an excellent overview of the diversity and freshness of Swedish poetry spanning nearly three centuries.
