The authors attempt to present the foundations of a theology of the United Methodist Church. Their goal is not only to uncover the largely unknown theological heritage of Charles and John Wesley in continental Europe but also to provide a biblically grounded and open systematic presentation of the message of the Gospel in dialogue with their own tradition, addressing the questions of our time. This work will also benefit Christians from other churches by revealing the richness of the Christian faith. It represents an important ecumenical contribution. "Lived Grace," described in a review as "an instructive, non-polemical general orientation on the theological stance of Methodism," is designed as an introduction to the foundations of the theology of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Germany, but has established itself far beyond that as a standard work.
