The second volume of the six-volume collected works of Diggelmann contains stories from two decades. A selection of columns offers a reunion with the political Diggelmann, and the poems written towards the end of his life reveal a very personal Walter Matthias Diggelmann. 1962 was a pivotal year in Diggelmann's life: he suffered a serious accident during military service and wrote the novel "The Interrogation of Harry Wind," a book about the manipulative mechanisms of the then-still-young public relations industry, which suddenly made him well-known beyond Switzerland's borders. From then on, Diggelmann became an indispensable figure in the Swiss literary scene. He received commissions for radio and television plays and established himself as a regular columnist for various Swiss daily and weekly newspapers. However, he never stopped telling stories.
