Melchior Imboden began photographing in 1978. Subsequently, he traveled and explored over 40 countries with his camera. This includes a journey across South America as well as Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, China, Japan, Russia, and also Europe. His images do not document his travels; rather, they are characteristic and atmospheric snapshots. Intuitive interpretations of landscapes, everyday situations, portraits of people, and cities. Sometimes he deliberately chooses blurriness. When viewed up close, they become abstractions and gain a new image quality from a distance, becoming ambiguous.
