Product details

Christianity once originated in the East. Due to the fragmentation of Islam in the Middle East, the situation for Christians has changed dramatically. They are at best tolerated, but most often discriminated against, and in the worst cases, persecuted. Especially in Arab countries, their numbers are shrinking at an alarming rate. In Palestine, the birthplace of Christianity, there are an estimated 49,000 Christians left, which corresponds to about 1.2 percent of the population. Millions have emigrated to England, the USA, and Australia. From July 2011 to January 2014, Linda Dorigo and Andrea Milluzzi traveled through Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, Jordan, Turkey, and Syria. They closely documented small Christian communities that had decided to preserve their original refuge despite the threats.
