The topic of immigration can be approached in various ways. The Chilean-Swiss photographer herself came to Switzerland in 1980 and knows what it means to live in exile. For many years, she has been engaged with Switzerland and the integration of young people with a migration background. For this project, she has portrayed 38 children with the objects they brought from their homeland. On the wall panel, they each wrote in their own language the reason why they chose that particular item. The photographs give a face and a voice to those most affected, namely the young people, providing a direct emotional and visual connection that allows us to engage with their painful fate.
