Since 1955, the World Press Photo Foundation has been determining the best press photos of the year through an international photography competition. This volume contains the images awarded by an independent jury from the year 2015. The appearance of this edition has been changed. The format is more compact, and the content is much more extensive. It is more of a book than a magazine, giving it a more valuable appearance. The gallery of these selected photos is a photographic showcase year after year, featuring snapshots and shocking moments, wars and crises. They are memories of events we would rather forget, of occurrences we must never forget, and of those we wish to keep in our minds. The images pose questions to those in power, questions about the why, but also about our willingness to be shaken awake. Furthermore, the question arises.
