The present practical grammar of the Norwegian language is a learning and reference grammar for German-speaking learners of Norwegian. It is particularly aimed at students of Nordic Philology, Scandinavian Studies, and participants in Norwegian courses at adult education centers. Following an introductory chapter on the pronunciation and spelling of Norwegian, the individual parts of speech (noun, article, adjective, verb, etc.) are systematically presented in terms of their forms, usage, and any peculiarities. In the individual grammar chapters, the linguistic structures are illustrated in an easily understandable way through numerous example sentences based on the basic and advanced vocabulary of the Norwegian language (bokmål). All example sentences are translated into German so that learners can simultaneously improve their comprehension.
