The Austrian-German writer and translator from Chinese, Leo Greiner (1876 - 1928), met the Chinese poet and writer Tsou Ping Shou at the beginning of the 20th century. Greiner translated the stories and tales told by Shou from various periods of China and compiled them in this wonderful work. Thus, stories from the late Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1628) to the Qing Dynasty (1662 - 1723) are recorded. This is a reprint of the original edition from 1914.
