Product details
After Sultan Saladin conquered Jerusalem, the Pope called upon the Western kingdoms to reclaim the Holy Land. Thus began the Third Crusade, which lasted three years until the peace treaty in 1192. The Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, Frederick I, led this campaign, among others, but drowned shortly before arriving in Jerusalem. Karl Fischer outlines how he participated in and approached the Third Crusade in this work. This is a carefully revised reprint of the original edition from 1870.
