Product details
On June 13, 1886, the Bavarian King Ludwig II drowned in Lake Starnberg along with psychiatrist Bernhard von Gudden. The Munich professor had diagnosed the king with "incurable mental weakness and paranoia" just a few days earlier, after which he was declared incompetent, overwhelmed, and placed under psychiatric supervision at Berg Castle. More than 120 years later, the renowned psychiatrist Heinz Häfner, after reviewing previously unknown sources, can demonstrate that the king was by no means mentally ill according to the criteria that were in place at the time.
