In June 1938, a nearly forgotten pogrom took place in Berlin, which can retrospectively be interpreted as a dress rehearsal for the events of November of the same year. Jewish shops throughout the city were defaced and some were also looted. The Centrum Judaicum archive preserves two extensive photo series documenting this event, which are presented here for the first time in their entirety and analyzed carefully both in their broader context and individually.
