Product details
The art of traveling is almost the science of life. In October 1838, the celebrated writer George Sand sets off for Mallorca, accompanied by Frédéric Chopin and her two children. While she hopes for the recovery of her beloved and her son, the journey is also an escape from the gossip and chatter of Parisian society. The initial enthusiasm soon gives way to great disillusionment, as there is neither a welcoming culture nor the mild climate she expected. After just one winter, the small family returns to France. In 1842, George Sand's literary account is published as a book and becomes a widely read classic. Even today, no fan of Mallorca or travel enthusiast should miss this enchanting yet strange look back into the island's past.
