Product details

What influence does the personality of investors have on their risk behavior in financial markets? Florian Wedlich explores this question by analyzing the impact of the personality traits of extraversion and neuroticism on the determinants of risk behavior (risk attitude, risk perception, and return expectations), portfolio composition, and trading behavior of investors, as well as on price formation in financial markets. A written survey conducted at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg and an experimental study with a computer-based stock market form the basis of the empirical analyses. The results show that the personality traits of extraversion and neuroticism play a significant role in decision-making under risk in the context of financial markets.
