The textbook aimed at first-year mathematics students offers a comprehensive introduction to various aspects of computer-oriented mathematics. It enables an early and valuable engagement with computer-oriented methods, ways of thinking, and work techniques within mathematics. To this end, fundamental mathematical subfields that have a close relationship with computer-oriented aspects are covered: graphs, mathematical algorithms, recurrence relations, computer-oriented linear algebra, numbers, polynomials, and their roots. Through the mathematical core topics, insights into the modeling, analysis, and algorithmic processing of fundamental mathematical concepts are provided. A special feature of the book is the use of the increasingly popular, freely available software system Sage, which is gaining traction in research and teaching.
