Adorno's lectures from 1958 still fulfill what their title promises: they provide an introduction to dialectics. Unlike, for example, "Negative Dialectics" or the works on Hegel, they do not require prior knowledge of the philosophical tradition and can be read as a propaedeutic to these writings. However, they also address those who are opposed to dialectics, as they systematically start from the difficulties associated with it, the prejudices and resistances against it, and the demands that dialectics imposes.
