The mathematics textbooks for grades 11 and 12 of the vocational school are tailored to the non-technical fields of business and administration, health and social services, design, nutrition, and agricultural economics in Lower Saxony. Each topic is developed through a job-related practical situation. Illustrative, subject-specific problem scenarios promote fundamental subject and methodological competence. Volume 1 for grade 11 covers the basics of business mathematics (rule of three and percentage calculation) as well as financial mathematics (simple interest and compound interest calculation). Possible school-specific extensions and deepening: calculation for trade and industrial enterprises with a practical focus. Spreadsheet software can be used as a tool.
