Product details
Self-discovery through unity with the Guru. "One with Guru Rinpoche" provides a clear, practical guide on how to approach a traditional tantric ritual and how to bridge the complex demands of our modern lives. The core of the ritual text presented here is the entry into the mandala of Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, and the inseparable connection with the Guru in his eight manifestations. The root text comes from the Terma tradition of Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche, one of the great Nyingma lamas of more recent times. The commentary explains the use of symbols as a method for transforming samsara into nirvana, as found in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Furthermore, it offers new perspectives on how to examine and question one's own identity and personal life design. James Low has been engaged with Tibetan Buddhism in theory and practice since the 1960s. He lived and learned from many lamas, including his main teacher Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche, with whom he spent many years in Bengal, India, during which time he translated numerous Tibetan texts. At the request of his teacher, he began giving Dharma talks and leading retreats in 1976. He currently works as a psychotherapist and trainer in a London hospital. "It is refreshing to see how the wisdom of Tibet is expressed here by a yogi who understands and embodies it, in a language that preserves its value and imbues it with cultural significance. Clearly, Guru Rinpoche is thriving in Europe." Keith Dowman.
