First, a crucial exam in her law studies goes wrong, then a serious bicycle accident - fate is not kind to Luisa. However, chief physician Christine, who takes a notably caring interest in her at the hospital, awakens tender feelings within her. At first, Luisa is reluctant to allow this, and Christine also seems to struggle against her feelings for Luisa, but when Luisa is discharged, both try to get closer to each other. Past burdens from Christine's history complicate this, and when Luisa has to return to the clinic, Christine's arch-rival, chief physician Holger Falkenheim, sees his chance to finally get rid of Christine for unethical behavior. A tragic family incident ultimately tears her away from Luisa; the chance for a happy relationship is smaller than ever.
