What is a unique object? A strange thing, a meteorite, an absolute that converges to a single point, which is irreplaceable by anything else. Perhaps it is also an idea, a building, a color, a feeling, a human being. Its uniqueness always puts it in danger. In light of the mediatisation and globalisation of culture, the leveling of values, and the generalisation of a way of thinking that consists merely of opinions, where can unique objects still be found? How can they be defined, created, protected, and recognized? Philosopher Jean Baudrillard and architect Jean Nouvel weave their dialogue around these themes, addressing fundamental issues that will occupy us in the coming years.
