Summer 2009. Chief Inspector Paul Lenz is finally about to take his well-deserved vacation when he is approached by Salvatore Iannone. The owner of an ice cream café in Kassel feels threatened by his landlord, the real estate speculator Jochen Mälzer, and asks the police for help. Lenz pays little attention to the Italian's confused statements, but two days later, Iannone and his wife are found shot dead in their café. Was their ice cream shop obstructing the plans of the property mogul, who is planning a large outlet center there?
