"We are a creature with six eyes." The installations, films, and performances of Ramin Haerizadeh (born 1975), Rokni Haerizadeh (born 1978), and Hesam Rahmanian (born 1980, all three live and work in Dubai) transport audiences to a unique world. Their work is as abundant as growth in nature, infused with humor, eccentricity, and rich in allusions. The foundation and center of the Iranian trio's artistic practice is their home in Dubai, where their works emerge from the process of living and working together—often in collaboration with friends or other artists. They create surprising encounters that draw attention to urgent political and social issues of the present, questioning power dynamics as well as normative gender roles and the art world itself. Following exhibitions at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Kunsthalle Zurich, Trussardi Foundation in Milan, and as part of the Sharjah Biennial, SCHIRN is now presenting the first solo exhibition of the artists in Germany. The accompanying catalog will include a text by Martina Weinhart, a detailed biography, and a foreword by Philipp Demandt.
