With the increasing electrification of drivetrains in current vehicle generations, there is a need for research and development to further optimize the drives. Among the most commonly used drives are permanent magnet synchronous machines, whose optimization is the focus of numerous current studies. However, the comprehensive evaluation processes necessary for machine development are often considered only secondarily. The focus of this work is the electromagnetic evaluation of permanent magnet synchronous machines, integrated into the machine development process. The goal is to enable a comprehensive, computationally efficient, and accurate machine evaluation already in the early stages of development. Interfaces to developing thermal and structural dynamic evaluation processes are implemented, resulting in a consistent data basis within the evaluation process. Results remain traceable.
