Product details

For more than a hundred years, patients with affective and schizophrenic psychoses have been treated at the Tübingen University Hospital for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. The causes and triggers of these serious illnesses are multidimensional. Accordingly, the treatment methods are also diverse. They rely on psychotherapeutic, pharmacological, and other somatic approaches. Among the latter treatment methods, electroconvulsive therapy and, more recently, transcranial magnetic stimulation have gained significant importance in the treatment of therapy-resistant depression. The present book by my colleagues from Tübingen covers the entire spectrum of electromagnetic therapies (ECT, TMS, tDCS, VNS, MST). It provides concrete guidelines for treatment protocols and the monitoring of psychopathological and cognitive aspects.
