Elektromechanik
German, J. Meins, 1997Product details
Electromechanical energy converters encompass the fields of rotating and linear electric machines, magnetic bearings, and solenoids, as well as mechanical actuators. What these devices have in common is the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy. The conversion process often occurs directly, for example, from electrical to mechanical in a direct current motor. However, in some designs, it takes place in combination with intermediate conversion stages, such as from electrical to electrical in transformers, frequency converters, or current controllers, or from mechanical to mechanical in a gearbox. The conversion of energy in intermediate stages serves to adapt the energy form on either the electrical or mechanical side of the energy converter. The application areas of electromechanical energy converters are diverse, particularly in energy generation, energy storage, and drive technology.
