The mission ship Elite1 is on its first mission in the distant future, tasked with evacuating Jupiter's moon Europa, which is on the brink of destruction by a massive asteroid. Technical problems and political adversaries make this task anything but easy for Admiral Taylor. As if that weren't enough, a new life form is discovered that will completely disrupt the existing order of civilizations, leading to a whirlwind of events. Meanwhile, Beth, the Admiral's new love, faces entirely different challenges, as she comes from Earth in the 1980s. She must not only learn to cope with the future but also come to terms with her role as the "Guardian" of these life forms.
