On the map, Greenland is a vast white spot. This book aims to add some color to this world. It highlights the culture of the Inuit, searches for traces of the Vikings, and naturally dedicates itself to the researchers and adventurers who have found their playground here since Fridtjof Nansen's first crossing of the inland ice. Easily understandable essays are juxtaposed with tales from the fantastic world of the indigenous people. Excerpts from early expedition diaries are followed by literary adaptations of the unique experiences in the cold. At the same time, numerous texts from our time shed light on the daily lives of the inhabitants. It should not be overlooked that at the intersection of traditional hunting culture and modernity, problems inevitably arise.
