Why is the village pastor lying frozen in the dirt before the mayor's grave? Because he is dead! Bludgeoned! Killed! By one of his parishioners? "Never in a million years," the villagers of Birkdorf collectively shout, hastily branding one suspect after another as the scapegoat. Fanni and Sprudel, on the other hand, have their own thoughts.
