There is considerable evidence that deficits in the regulation of emotions such as anger, sadness, and rage in children are linked to the development of psychosocial problems. The emotion regulation training (ERT) presented in this manual is aimed at children aged 6 to 10 years. Its goal is to strengthen emotion regulation skills. The ERT is designed for group implementation and consists of six sessions, each lasting approximately 60 to 75 minutes. The manual begins with theoretical background information on emotion regulation and explains the concept of the training. It then describes the implementation of the individual sessions. On one hand, the training includes exercises to impart knowledge about emotions to enhance children's understanding of emotions. On the other hand, it includes exercises focused on the subprocesses of emotion regulation.
