Emse Travels to Rome is a travel book for children in elementary school, designed for reading aloud and independent reading. It consists of 100 pages, 49 colorful illustrations and photos, 6 coloring pages, and 5 note pages. Emse, the adventurous, curious, slightly cheeky, and by no means shy ant from Berlin, explores the city of Rome with her best friend RCL ("I’m best at cycling, being cool, and reading"). In Rome, Emse visits the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, and the Circus Maximus, among other sites. She shares stories about the life of Julius Caesar, gladiator fights, and chariot races of ancient times. In the Vatican Museums, she explains how Michelangelo created the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. While walking through the historic center, she explores the construction of the Pantheon and marvels at the numerous buildings by the sculptor Bernini. Emse spends an exciting day at the Villa Borghese.
