Learning with digital media is increasingly seen as an opportunity to renew study and teaching at universities. But how can universities systematically implement these opportunities and anchor them in everyday operations? The University of Duisburg-Essen has systematically developed an e-learning strategy based on successful pioneering projects since 2010 to provide impulses for teaching across all faculties. The e-learning strategy is not an end in itself but is embedded in the overarching goals of the university. This collected volume describes the e-learning strategy and its measures. It provides insight into the fundamental considerations for developing the strategy, support and service areas, as well as concrete approaches to innovation in degree programs. It becomes clear that the digitalization of higher education requires a comprehensive (and longer) transformation process.
