Product details
Nuclear energy and natural gas are being discussed as bridges on the path to the energy supply of the future. However, individual interests and emotions currently dominate the societal debate for or against a particular energy source. In this study, Marcel Viëtor impartially compares the advantages and disadvantages of both technologies. He examines the extent to which uranium and natural gas are geologically and geographically available, the supply risks involved, how compatible both energy sources are with the expansion of renewable energies and decentralized power generation, how climate-efficient and operationally safe their use is, and what costs are incurred. Additionally, he looks at the example of Germany, Finland, France, Sweden, and Spain to analyze the conditions for the future use of nuclear energy and natural gas in EU member states.
