Containers play an important role in material provision during assembly. However, both in practice and in literature, it becomes evident that the choice of a container is often made without considering the factors and relationships influenced by the container size. Therefore, this work develops a model for determining the optimal container, taking into account cost and benefit aspects. This model will be tested based on a practical application.
