In the Heidelberg Down Syndrome Study, parents of children with Down syndrome were surveyed annually until the age of six regarding the support services, the development of the children's adaptive and language skills, their behavioral characteristics, and - supplemented by the perspective of educators - their relationships with other children in daycare centers. Additionally, parents reported on the development of family stress experiences, their satisfaction with early intervention, and their attitudes towards inclusive education in daycare centers and schools. The results provide a nuanced picture of developmental trajectories under the conditions of Down syndrome and the experiences and perspectives of parents, which can be utilized for planning early intervention measures and advising families.
