In the dark night of a distant future, the remnants of a shattered Earth drift through the cold emptiness of space. The shadows of the past seem to have been banished, and the dark clouds on humanity's horizon are of our own making. Since the Great Dim War, in which the Earth met its destruction, humanity has been restless, scattered in the void, stripped of its cradle. The Sol System has become the last safe haven for vagabonds, outcast rebels who stand against the oppressive power of the Consortium – a fascist government that rules over the remnants of Earth and its colonies. True freedom can only be found among the stars, so say the voices of the Galactic Underground. For them, the war is not over yet. It has only just begun.
