Across Europe, a resurgence of radicalism is becoming evident, from both the left and the right. Even in the unique situation in Germany after 1945, currently influenced by the migration crisis of 2015, right-wing ideologies are experiencing a new reception. The author, who has expressed intellectual sympathies for a conscious, intellectual conservatism over many years and sharply criticized the supposed dominance of an aging New Left, firmly rejects the new right. He demonstrates that their appeal to significant traditions is empty and cynical, leading back to a civil war thought to be overcome, which must end disastrously.
