Reform pedagogy has been viewed controversially - met with rejection and support, sweeping criticism and praise, but also with nuanced critique and constructive examination. It has been relegated to the realm of the imaginary as an ideal construct, yet it has also been exposed and problematized in terms of its real successes and failures. The authors of this volume not only question the claims and realities of a specific era and some of its facets that have been largely overlooked or minimally acknowledged, but they also explore the viability of originally reform pedagogical concepts for educational and instructional practices in the present and future.
