Water is an important space for experiences and learning for children. They get to know a different world of movement, enhance their sensory-motor skills, and have significant psycho-motor experiences in shallow water. They can transfer what they have learned to everyday situations: they are able to visit indoor and outdoor pools during their leisure time, and they can swim in lakes or the sea with their families during vacations. They have acquired the prerequisites that enable them to engage in water-related activities. Due to its unique physical properties, water is also a particularly suitable activity space for children with developmental challenges and disabilities.
